Abstract:-Nanotechnology is a natural end result of scientific development and our ability to understand and manipulate matter at smaller and smaller level. Current research is directed towards the production of wide array of different nano-scale structures. The fabrication techniques of the structures can be divided into 2 approaches: “top-down” and “bottom-up.” Till date all the articles have mentioned future treatment opportunities of nanotechnology in dentistry that includes local anesthesia, dentition re-naturalization, permanent hypersensitivity cure, complete orthodontic realignment during single office visit, covalently bonded diamondised enamel, and continuous oral health maintenance using mechanical dentifrobots, but none have mentioned nanoproducts that are available and used in dentistry at present. This review article tries to highlight the present scope of nanotechnology in dentistry.

Abstract:-Diverticular diseases of colon form an important differential diagnosis in cases with right sided abdominal pain. The overall prevalence of diverticular disease is low but their importance lies in the fact that the incidence has been increasing in recent years. In the Western population, left side of colon is predominantly affected; but in Asians, the right side involvement is common. Here we are presenting a case of diverticulum of the ascending colon, which was solitary and presented with perforation.

Abstract:-Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) has long been used as a biological marker for prostatic cancer. Recent studies have demonstrated that PSA synthesis can be induced in both sexes by steroid hormones including Progesterone. PSA is present in the breast milk and other body fluids and tissues of women in health and in various disease conditions. The massive amounts of steroid hormones produced by the placenta during pregnancy stimulate PSA synthesis in the breast tissue. PSA in breast milk probably plays an important role in post-natal growth and development of the infant by virtue of its IGFBP 3 protease activity liberating IGF-I, its very cationic nature, the inactivation of the Protein C inhibitors and extensive homology of PSA with Tissue kallikrein, gamma Nerve growth factor and Epidermal growth factor binding protein. In this study, PSA levels in breast milk were found to decrease with increasing time post-partum. The milk PSA levels were higher in case of lesser gestation at delivery, smaller birth weight of the baby and for a male baby.

Abstract:- The present work describe a reverse phase HPLC method for line quantification of carbandazim in raw and cooked Indian Cereals as pulses the retention time of carbandazim is 2.85minutes in RP HPLC using 10%V/V phosphate butter in acetonitrile water in ratio 17.37:46 as mobile phase and c18 (5u 250X4.6mm)by hypersil column as stationary phase . The effluent was monitored by UV detection at 230nm the method was validated for accuracy, precision, specificity in this study 15 samples of cereals by pulses of different varieties were analyzed for residues of carbandazim in raw as well as cooked forms. The maximum residual limit for cerbandazim residues in cereals and pulses is 0.5 mg/kg. The analyzed amount of carbandazim residues in raw sample of cereals and pulses was 0.0320-18.8171 mg/kg by collected samples 0.003-0.6776 mg/kg. The carbandazin plots were within range of 0.1 to 100 mg /ml (R.0.9995), the observed percentage recovery of carbandazim was found to be 90.09-102-82% which indicated good accuracy and reproducibility of the method.

Abstract:-In the present research program, polymer nanocomposites have been used as the drug carrier for delivery systems of ocular drugs. Tamarind and Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) with different ratios were blended with different wt% of Cloisite 30B solution by solvent casting method. Cloisite 30B was incorporated in the formulation as a matrix material component which also plays the role of a co-emulsifier in the nanocomposite preparation. Timolol maleate in different concentrations was loaded with Tamarind-PVA/C 30B nanocomposites for studying the in-vitro drug delivery systems. Morphology and structure characterization of nanocomposites were investigated by fourier transmission infra red spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), tensile strength and water uptake capacity. The drug release was studied by changing time, pH and drug concentrations. The kinetics of the drug release was studied in order to ascertain the type of release mechanism. Based on the diffusion as well as the kinetics, the mechanism of the drug release from the composite matrix has been reported.
